Li Zhe was born in Bengbu, Anhui Province in 1961. He served in the navy as a clerk painter in 1982. Three years later, Zhe enrolled in the Fine Art Academy of PLA for two years of extensive study. The artist now works as a teacher at the Bengbu United Art College.
